Asus armoury crate service error9/23/2023 ![]() ![]() Armoury crate will install the latest LightingService if you update it via the app, overwriting the previous one, but this does not mean it fits your AURA Software, aac drivers, ASUS Com Service, etc which creates a multitude of problems. Its full of additional unnessary Windows Services and really buggy currently. I noticed that the interface can work with a mixture of LightingService version, making it confusing when troubleshooting.Īrmoury Crate is the new ASUS unified software which includes auto updates & Aura Sync. The AURA Software is the interface which controls all the services & drivers above. ![]() In your usual Aura Sync installation folder, these drivers are stored in " \LightingService\aac" This will result in quite some errors, ranging from "AURA Service Unavailable", "AURA Service not running", and in Armoury Crate, it just shows "Please connect to the internet to update" or "Please connect a compatible device".Įach version of AURA Service will have their own AAC drivers, which detects and controls the LED of each devices, be it motherboard, RAM, or the addressable RGB. Occasionally, installing AURA does not automatically install AXSP, resulting in LightingService to crash on launch. The latest version as if this writing is 4.00.38. It is stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\AXSP. It is usually included in the installers. LightingService requires AXSP (or ASUS COM Service) to run. It should be visible in the Windows Services where you can disable/enable it. ![]() It is installed with AURA Sync installations or updates from Armoury Crate. The following forum post helped me in understanding the intricacies of it : How Aura Sync (or Armory Crate Sync) WorksĪura Sync & Armoury Crate w/ Aura Sync requires the LightingService (or AURA Service) which is stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\LightingService. Reinstalls, BIOS flashes, CMOS clears just result in "AURA Service Unavailable" or Amoury Crate showing "Please connect a compatible device".Īfter 8 hours of trial and error, I understood the way Aura Sync & the drivers behaves and I wanted to share the solution for the benefit for all. Things should work again like they should until you try change rgb settings again to different preset changing things like color spectrum of the rainbow effect as example or different color should still work, changing to different effect may break the rgb again.Īnyway its rather annoying how broken armoury crate is, let alone that it sometimes blocks you from playing games with EasyAntiCheat or other anti cheat due corrupt files or being on a paused update that did not get resumed by Asus due there incompetence, in that later case you may need to do a clean install to fix armoury crate, if lucky a system restore point from couple of weeks old may fix it.Aura Sync & Armoury Crate clashes resulting in the apps unable to detect my motherboard/RAM/etc. Highlight script folder and LastProfile.xml make a copy of that store it somewhere else, when it breaks you go into services.msc lightningservice right click stop then copy paste backup files LastProfile.xml and script folder back into C:\Program Files (x86)\LightingService ![]() You may also find some installers inside C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\UpdateĪnyway armoury crate is a mess do not try uninstall it to fix things if you wanna make sure rgb as example keeps working and you have it working go into C:\Program Files (x86)\LightingService Try the ServiceInstallBatch.bat for example and so onĪrmoury crate is in this folder C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\AsusGamingCenterInstallPackage Rog live is for example here C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ROG Live Service the AsusUpdateSetup try run that Uninstaller is broken so if you uninstalled everything then installer wont reinstall everything you have to manually reinstall it those installers are hidden in asus folder that it does not even clean up. ![]()
